John & Ashly Robbins
“How are you supposed to be new and succeed if you don’t change anything?!” quips John Robbins who, with wife Ashly, co-owns the signature red and white Signarama on Hartnell Avenue in Redding. And change they did. The Robbins are no strangers to hard work and perseverance. Returning to Redding at age 20 after having lost well-paying jobs in the cable industry, they purchased the Signarama franchise in 2005. Within two years they doubled their business and outgrew their cramped quarters. Today, the Redding Signarama store is a full service sign center offering custom signs, banners, vehicle warps, lettering and more.
With the help of a SBA 504 loan from SCED and Cornerstone Community Bank, John and Ashley repurposed an 11,000 square foot property into a state of the art production, sales and storage facility, adding six additional employees. Now, jobs that were previously outsourced are completed in-house and machinery that sometimes sat idle is being used to fabricate new and different products such as foam insulation for large trucks which is shipped to trailer manufactures nationwide.

John and Ashly have wisely capitalized on Signarama brand awareness and corporate training to boost their sales and learn the financial end of the business. In 2015, their store was inducted into the United Franchise Group Hall of Fame and recognized for achieving sales in the top 10% of their franchise group of over 1,000 worldwide locations.
